The Srutis (That which has been heard, and it refers to Vedas with its Samhita, Brahmana, Aranyaka, and Upanishad) and Smritis (That which is remembered, and it refers to Puranas and Epics, amongst others), which were revealed by the ancient sages and enlightened masters, are accessible to the modern world that we live in today. We need to be grateful to the oral tradition of Guru-Sishya Parampara, without whom our Sanatana Dharma or Hinduism (as it called today) would have been extinct.
Spiritual books play a huge role in the journey towards realisation. Captured at the depths of meditation, the thoughts of great souls enlighten the seekers. They share the divine wisdom owing to the compassion born of their hearts. The spiritual books help in the contemplation and meditation of the Higher Self and also to transcend the Samsara. May our minds be illumined!
