If Israel is on your bucket list, don’t be put off by concerns about disabled access – holidays here can be a rewarding experience with just a little planning.

Israel,Let Biblical Israel Open Up to You on this Accessible Tour Articles with its rich, fascinating history, ancient architecture and strong cultural identity, is somewhere that many people, of all faiths and none, dream of visiting. That’s why I’m always surprised by how many of my clients believe it is ‘too difficult’ a destination for those with disabilities or mobility issues to visit.

The truth is, that while Israel is working towards making many of its historic, religious and cultural sights more inviting to those with mobility issues by improving its disabled access, holidays here can still require careful planning. Things are getting better, slowly and surely – it’s just important to know where to go and to sort out appropriate transport in advance.

Accessible Tours

At Can Be Done, our accessible tour of Israel is rather popular amongst less mobile travellers. Our clients start off in Jerusalem, the religious and cultural heart of the country, before moving on to the beach-holiday hot spots of Tel Aviv and Haifa, the city of Tiberias (with its hot springs to relax in on a rainy day) and then on to the Dead Sea.

Our tour is fully organised so that you won’t have to worry about any of the details or searching out places with disabled access – our local driver will have all that arranged in advance. And, of course, the vehicle used for the tour can be wheelchair accessible if that’s what you need.

We at Can Be Done realise that visits to Israel are about more than just disabled access; holidays here can often be a spiritual as well as a cultural journey. If this is the case for you, just let us know. Tell us which faith you are most interested in, and we will tailor the tour to you, without missing any of the key sights of all the faiths represented in this unique country.

For those who prefer a bit more independence, there is also an option to enjoy the same accessible tour but under your own steam as part of a self-drive holiday. We will still arrange excursions to the most accessible sights, but you will be able to take your own time getting there and explore in your own way.

Where to Stay

My team and I have travelled extensively around Israel to track down the best of the accessible hotels the country has to offer so that we can personally recommend them to our clients. There are a number of good options available in Israel, but some of the ones our clients have praised the most along our tour route are:

  • Jerusalem: Dan Panorama Hotel, Inbal Jerusalem Hotel
  • Tel Aviv: Dan Tel Aviv
  • Haifa: Leonardo Plaza, Haifa Bay
  • Tiberias: Caesar Premier Tiberias, Leonardo Club Hotel

A visit to Israel can be an exciting experience for travellers with or without mobility issues. So if you let us at Can Be Done concentrate on finding you the best options with disabled access, holidays to this fascinating country can run smoothly and, of course most importantly, be stress-free.
