The Honorable Status of Medieval Knights
Knights are the most famous warriors of the medieval era. These brave warriors used to combat the enemies on the horse’s back and made every possible sacrifice for their nation and honor.
Studying history reveals many interesting facts about the medieval knights. Knights were basically the legendry warriors who fought on the horse’s back. They are still known for their bravery and valor. They were highly skilled and capable soldiers who knew some extraordinary techniques of warfare. They used to be dressed in heavily armored attire and were mounted with the most lethal weapons. Knights were particularly known for completely wiping out their enemies in the battlefield. These knights were deeply respected in the society and people looked up to them with great honor and appreciation. Due to their warfare skills and high status the knights had a number of benefits.
It was however very difficult to become a knight and achieve such a worthy status. They had to go through some tough training sessions and learning before they became eligible to be called a knight. There were proper training schools during the medieval era where children were sent at an early age to start their quest of becoming a knight. Although this precious status gave knights a lot of respect but required some major sacrifices from their side too. A knight had to dedicate himself fully to the purpose of protecting their nation. Major part of a knight’s life was spent fighting in the battlefield.
It was then during the times of these knights that various advanced items of armor were developed. Due to the deadly nature of wars it was very important for the knights to have adequate protection. For this purpose they started using protective gears such as helmets,
gauntlets, breastplates, gorgets, bracers and metallic footwear. Numerous amazing knights’ swords and weapons were also developed in that era. All of these knights’ armor, weapons and swords are greatly cherished even today.
These knights still have a special place in the hearts of every medieval fanatic and are still remembered as the bravest people who ever walked on the face of this earth.
